Economic determinants of mental health

"Economic factors are a large cluster of social determinants of health and mental health, in particular. Research confirms that unemployment, unstable employment, and unsatisfactory working conditions are associated with an increase in psychological stress.
There is a two-way relationship between mental health and economic determinants, as mental disorders can also negatively affect personal decisions, work capacity and income. Unnatural ideas about the economy, property rights and human rights in general were planted by the centuries-old genocidal acts of Moscow and its successors against Ukrainianness and constitute a significant part of the transgenerational trauma of Ukrainians. The economic component of Russia's war against Ukraine has a profound impact on the mental health of individuals and communities and requires a comprehensive approach to influence the relevant social determinants.
As part of the master's program ""Social Psychology"", we invite you to attend the lecture ""Economic Determinants of Mental Health"".The lecture will be delivered by Oleksiy Suhovia - a psychiatrist, assistant medical director of the State University ""Institute of Forensic Psychiatry of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine"", teacher of psychology programs at the ""Kyiv School of Economics"" University.
