Open lecture "Values, views and beliefs."

"Dr. Lena Surzhko Harned is an Associate Professor of Political Science and Associate Director of the Public Policy Initiative at Pennsylvania State University, Behrend College. She has published on nationalism, identity politics, politics and religion, trade policy, European integration, comparative democratization and mass political behavior in Eastern Europe.
Her works were published in such well-known journals as International Research Quarterly, Journal of Common Market Studies, European Political Science Review and others. Co-authored book ""Post-Soviet legacies and conflicting values ​​in Europe: generation why?"" (print: 2017) examines the conflict of generations and its consequences for modern Ukraine and Russia. Lena Surzhko Harned's current research projects focus on the ideology of ""Russian World"" and its influence on Russian politics in Ukraine and the world; dynamics of decolonization in Ukrainian politics and society; politics and religion in Ukraine and Russia; nationalism and identity in Ukrainian society, especially among those who call themselves Russian-speaking.
During the lecture, the speaker will talk about the methodology of studying values ​​and attitudes, the justification of such studies, as well as give examples, specific values ​​and show their political relevance in Ukraine. In addition, we note down information about the methods and their application.
