ABOUT THE PROGRAM
Master's in Public Policy and Governance (MPPG) welcomes active citizens, representatives of government, NGOs, think tanks, and business with ambitions to jointly shape the future of Ukraine during and after the war.
MPPG emphasizes the practical application of academic theories and research methods. Our students are not only able to understand complex policy issues but also have the skills to develop and implement effective policies. By working on real-world projects and engaging with government bodies, public organizations, and businesses, students gain valuable experience and build their professional network of changemakers.
Our students work on and publicly defend their thesis that meets the highest standards of academic research. Graduates are equipped with the necessary research skills to analyze complex policy issues and make evidence-based decisions. By meeting these rigorous standards, graduates are well-prepared to pursue further academic study or enter the workforce as public policy experts.
Studying at KSE is a brand that immediately gives an employer an idea of the quality of your expertise. I have no hesitation in mentioning this stage of my education in my CV for any position. In fact, my degree helped me to gain the trust of the Head of the National Agency of Ukraine on Civil Service, who appointed me as a supernumerary youth adviser. Without this education, or with a different university, this would hardly have been possible.
Serhii Horovenko works in the EU Project "Support to Justice Sector Reforms and Digitalization in Ukraine (Pravo-Justice II)" as a Field Project Officer of Component 2 "Judicial Reform" and is a graduate of the program "Public Policy and Governance".
Before studying at KSE, I had experience in the NGO and state sectors. However, I always felt that I was missing something important. Eventually, I realized that it was a theoretical foundation and a general overview that I could rely on in my work. This was the biggest internal need that I was able to satisfy through my studies at KSE. Although, in fact, I got much more from it: I discovered my passion for qualitative research methods and formed a habit of reading scientific literature.
Now I work as a Program Manager at the US Peace Corps in Ukraine. The experience I gained while studying at KSE helped me to serve as the Director of Programming and Training at Peace Corps in Ukraine, as well as to gain international experience as the Programming and Training Advisor at Peace Corps in Sri Lanka.
