About event:
Kyiv is changing - and you can be a part of it!
In February, the Kyiv City Military Administration announced the creation of the Kyiv Barrier-Free Route.
This is not just a few convenient points, but a complete route that is comfortable for all people with limited mobility, especially for the military after their injuries.
What's the point?
First of all, it is about creating a barrier-free space. But before that, a comprehensive assessment of the urban environment. We are talking about analyzing the route, which is critically important for getting around the city:
- Central Station - the main transport hub of Kyiv;
- the Main Military Clinical Hospital - a key medical facility for the military;
- Independence Square - the central square, a space of memory and recreation.
The inspection will involve a working group with a trainer. Participants will be divided into groups of 3-4 people to maximize their learning and gain practical experience.
The audit will include practical exercises: moving in a wheelchair, walking down the street blindfolded to better feel the barriers. Digital tools such as maps, visualizations, and databases will be used to record the results and create a route.
This will help create a logical, safe and convenient route for everyone.
