What you can expect:● An introduction to the history of bridge: from the earliest forms of the game to modern championships.● Stories about famous bridge enthusiasts among politicians, scientists, and artists.● An introduction to basic concepts: what is a “trick” and how does the contract system work?● Practice: we will play a few simple games to get a feel for the game from the inside.● This is a great opportunity to try the game in practice and decide if you want to delve deeper into learning bridge.
During the class, we will also:● take a closer look at the principles of bidding,● learn how to safely fulfill contracts,● master the concept of strength distribution (balance),● learn about different types of contracts, and learn how to choose the best option in each situation.
