About event:

What is the connection between rational numbers and hyperbolicity?
How does Euclid's algorithm suddenly find itself at the heart of geometric construction? And how can a simple property of the determinant lead to dozens of unexpected mathematical facts?

We invite students, teachers, and anyone interested in mathematics to the seventh meeting of the SMS, during which we will delve into structures that seem simple at first glance but hide the sophisticated logic of numbers and shapes:
● we will analyze what a Farey diagram is and what are its basic properties● see how it is related to Euclid's algorithm and chain fraction● learn how one simple property of the determinant can have unexpectedly profound consequences
The focus is on the fundamental connections between rational numbers, algorithmic procedures, and algebraic properties that are rarely presented in a single context.
