About event:
We invite you to the fifth Scientific Seminar of the Faculty of Computer Science, which promises to be not only informative but also inspiring.
The topic of the seminar: “Sparse Graphs in Random Environments: Order out of Chaos”What happens if the connections in a large network are determined by a random environment? It would seem that in such a “twice stochastic” situation, only chaos reigns. But mathematics surprises us: even here, an orderly and predictable structure emerges - an endless forest and some pseudo-trees.
If there is enough time (and sand), we will also look into the world of sand groups, mysterious mathematical objects that can model complex dynamic systems with unexpected elegance.
Why should you come?● You will get insights from cutting-edge research at the intersection of probability, topology, and graph theory.● You will be able to ask questions directly to one of the country's leading mathematicians.● You will feel how beauty is born out of complexity and randomness - in formal models and, perhaps, in the world around us.
