European Students’ Convention 50: досвід студентки KSE

Ювілейна 50-та Європейська студентська конвенція зібрала студентських лідерів, представників національних союзів, експертів з освітньої політики та активістів із усієї Європи, щоб обговорити роль молоді у формуванні майбутнього континенту.  

Подія відбулася в Португалії, учасники відвідали міста Лісабон та Порто. Приймаючою стороною виступили Polytechnic University of Cávado and Ave та Municipality of Barcelos.

Університет, Українську асоціацію студентів та Україну представила Вікторія Германчук, студентка освітньої програми Бізнес-економіка:

"Для мене ця участь - це велика честь, адже зараз я маю можливість представляти інтереси всього студентства України на Європейській арені, здобути неймовірний досвід для того, щоб очолювати KSE EU Club і створювати нові нетворкінги для студентів, щоб ще більше обмінюватись досвідом і вивчати найкращі студентські практики".

Центральною темою заходу стало посилення програми Erasmus+ у новому бюджетному циклі Європейського Союзу — Multiannual Financial Framework 2028–2034.

Під час обговорень учасники зосередилися на трьох основних напрямках:

- Посилення Erasmus+ — забезпечення більшої інклюзивності, доступності та фінансування програми, аби кожен студент у Європі мав рівні можливості для академічної мобільності та міжнародного досвіду.

- Роль студентів у демократичному процесі ЄС — обговорення того, як студентські рухи можуть впливати на ухвалення рішень у сферах освіти, соціальної політики та фінансування.

- Єдність студентського руху у часи криз — дискусії про соціальну нерівність, демократичні виклики та важливість освіти у зміцненні європейських цінностей і солідарності.

Програма конвенції включала панельні дискусії за участі представників ESU, національних студентських союзів, експертів з європейської політики та освітніх інституцій.

Під час робочих груп учасники розробляли конкретні пропозиції для адвокаційної кампанії, спрямованої на посилення програми Erasmus+ у новому фінансовому періоді.

Окрему увагу приділено нетворкінгу та культурній програмі, що сприяли побудові нових партнерств між студентськими організаціями з більш ніж 40 країн світу.

Учасники мали змогу ближче познайомитися з культурою регіону Лісабону, відвідати місцеві музеї, ремісничі майстерні та зустрітися з представниками муніципалітету.

Найголовніше те, що конвенція стала платформою для обміну досвідом і найкращими практиками між молодіжними лідерами з усієї Європи. Вікторія Германчук підкреслила — можливість долучитися до студентської спільноти Європи важко переоцінити: 

"Вдячна невимовно університету, який підтримує на цьому шляху і дає такі неймовірні можливості! Тепер студенти KSE - частина Європейського Союзу Студентів, маючи представників на цій платформі!"

Майбутнє Європи творять її студенти — активні, свідомі, об’єднані спільними цінностями свободи, освіти та солідарності. Для спільноти KSE участь у такому форматі —  крок уперед у зміцненні голосу українського студентства на міжнародній арені.

European Students’ Convention 50: Experience of a KSE Student

The 50th Anniversary European Students’ Convention brought together student leaders, representatives of national unions, education policy experts, and activists from across Europe to discuss the vital role of youth in shaping the continent’s future.

The event took place in Portugal, with participants visiting Lisbon and Porto. The hosts were the Polytechnic University of Cávado and Ave and the Municipality of Barcelos.

Representing the Kyiv School of Economics (KSE), the Ukrainian Association of Students, and Ukraine, was Viktoriia Hermanchuk, a student of the Business Economics program:

“For me, this participation is a great honor, as I now have the opportunity to represent the interests of all Ukrainian students on the European stage, gain incredible experience to lead the KSE EU Club, and create new networks for students to exchange experiences and learn from the best student practices.”

The central theme of the convention was strengthening the Erasmus+ program within the new EU budget cycle — the Multiannual Financial Framework 2028–2034.

During the discussions, participants focused on three key areas:

1. Enhancing Erasmus+ — ensuring greater inclusivity, accessibility, and funding so that every student in Europe can have equal opportunities for academic mobility and international experience.
2. The role of students in the EU democratic process — exploring how student movements can influence decision-making in education, social policy, and funding.
3. Student unity in times of crisis — addressing social inequality, democratic challenges, and the importance of education in strengthening European values and solidarity.

The convention program included panel discussions with representatives from ESU, national student unions, European policy experts, and academic institutions.

In working groups, participants developed concrete advocacy proposals aimed at strengthening Erasmus+ in the upcoming financial period.

Special attention was given to networking and cultural activities, fostering new partnerships among student organizations from more than 40 countries. Participants also had the chance to explore the culture of the Lisbon region, visit local museums and artisan workshops, and meet with municipal representatives.

Most importantly, the convention became a platform for sharing experiences and best practices among youth leaders from all over Europe. Viktoriia Hermanchuk emphasized that the opportunity to join the European student community is invaluable:

“I’m deeply grateful to my university for its support and for providing such incredible opportunities! Now KSE students are part of the European Students’ Union, having their representatives on this platform!”

The future of Europe is shaped by its students — active, conscious, and united by shared values of freedom, education, and solidarity. For the KSE community, participation in this event marks an important step in strengthening the voice of Ukrainian students on the international stage.
