KSE Mathematics Seminar: Peelings and Wrappings of Families of Sets with Applications to Random K-Hulls
Convex hull peeling removes the extreme points of a convex hull layer by layer, producing nested convex layers. Mykyta Sadok extends this idea from point sets to families of convex sets, introducing two peeling procedures and their dual wrapping operations.
He studies their stability under vague convergence and applies the framework to random K-hulls. The results establish limit theorems for peelings and wrappings and connect their limiting objects to those of a Poisson process.
