KSE прийняла директора з міжнародних справ Королівського товариства Національної академії наук Великої Британії

До Київської Школи Економіки завітав Іан Віггінс, директор з міжнародних справ Королівського товариства Національної академії наук Великої Британії, колишній дипломат та експерт з глобальних стратегій. 

Пан Віггінс виступив перед викладачами та студентами KSE, поділившись своїми поглядами на міжнародні відносини та окресливши роль науки у зміцненні глобальної співпраці.

Візит відбувся в межах 5-го Саміту перших леді та джентльменів — глобальної платформи, започаткованої Першою леді України Оленою Зеленською. Саміт об’єднує світових лідерів, лауреатів Нобелівської премії миру, міністрів освіти та провідних інтелектуалів задля обговорення майбутнього світу, яке починається з освіти. 

Цього року захід зібрав представників понад 20 країн під темою «Освіта, що моделює світ».

У своєму виступі пан Віггінс наголосив на важливості наукової дипломатії як ключового інструмента у створенні стійких міжнародних відносин. Він підкреслив, що освіта і наукові дослідження мають визначальне значення для подолання глобальних викликів, розвитку діалогу та забезпечення миру й стабільності у світі.

Після лекції відбулася жвава Q&A-сесія, під час якої студенти KSE мали змогу поставити запитання та долучитися до дискусії про актуальні проблеми міжнародної політики та освіти.

Візит Іана Віггінса до Київської Школи Економіки ще раз підкреслив важливу роль освіти та науки як фундаменту миру, сталого розвитку та міжнародної співпраці. Ми вдячні за діалог і чекаємо на подальшу співпрацю.

KSE hosted the Director for International Affairs of the Royal Society of the UK’s National Academy of Sciences

Ian Wiggins, Director for International Affairs at the Royal Society of the United Kingdom’s National Academy of Sciences, former diplomat, and global strategy expert, visited the Kyiv School of Economics.

Mr. Wiggins delivered a lecture to KSE faculty and students, sharing his views on international relations and highlighting the role of science in strengthening global cooperation.

The visit took place as part of the 5th Summit of First Ladies and Gentlemen — a global platform initiated by the First Lady of Ukraine, Olena Zelenska. The Summit brings together world leaders, Nobel Peace Prize laureates, ministers of education, and leading intellectuals to discuss the future of the world, which begins with education. This year’s event gathered representatives from more than 20 countries under the theme “Education that Shapes the World.”

In his address, Mr. Wiggins emphasized the importance of science diplomacy as a key tool for building resilient international relations. He underlined that education and scientific research are crucial for addressing global challenges, fostering dialogue, and ensuring peace and stability worldwide.

Following the lecture, a dynamic Q&A session gave KSE students the opportunity to ask questions and join a discussion on pressing issues in international politics and education.

Ian Wiggins’ visit to the Kyiv School of Economics once again highlighted the essential role of education and science as the foundation of peace, sustainable development, and international cooperation. We are grateful for this dialogue and look forward to continued collaboration.
