Перший Кубок Оболоні з Шахів від KSE: результати та досягнення

2 серпня на кампусі Київської Школи Економіки відбувся шаховий турнір з шахів з міжнародним рейтингом у двох категоріях – основний турнір, та серед юнаків та дівчат (до 14 років). Всього взяли участь 179 шахістів, серед них – ветерани та діючі військові. 

У відкритті турніру взяв участь президент Федерації шахів України Олександр Камишин. Також серед учасників – перший номер Українського рейтингу, гросмейстер та військовий Ігор Коваленко. Головним суддею турніру виступив міжнародний арбітр Олег Товчига.

Коваленко у бліц-турнірі з 11 раундів показав блискучий результат – 10,5 очка з 11 можливих, упевнено випередивши гросмейстера Олексія Кислинського з Чехії. Третім став 15-річний Ян Дьомін, який став єдиним, кому вдалося відібрати у переможця 0,5 бала. У дитячому турнірі найсильнішим виявився Артемій Прохоров, слідом за ним фінішували Захар Шевчук та Андрій Дудніков. Кубок пройшов на дуже високому рівні – і за складом учасників, і за організацією. П’ять гросмейстерів, чотирнадцять майстрів спорту, сотні партій і море емоцій.

Переможців нагороджувала керівниця KSE Business School Валентина Сахно. Захід вдалося організувати спільними зусиллями Київської Школи Економіки, Федерації шахів Києва, а також за підтримки Оболонської райдержадміністрації:

“Дуже приємно, що на Оболоні з’явився такий потужний заклад, як Київська Школа Економіки. Це не просто вищий навчальний заклад – це велика освітня екосистема, з якою ми активно співпрацюємо” – голова Оболонської районної держадміністрації Києва Кирило Фесик наголосив на перспективності такого партнерства.

Після змагань відбулася панельна дискусія про розвиток шахів в Україні за участі представників KSE, української та київської федерацій шахів. 

Для KSE надважливо створювати та розвивати реально корисні для громади простори та ініціативи, підкреслив Михайло Шнейдер, СЕО Київської Школи Економіки:

“Цей турнір — приклад того як буде працювати кампус Університету KSE: відкритий для людей, для киян, для оболонців, для молоді, для ветеранів. Ми раді що кампус вже працює і створює цінність, цей турнір тому підтвердження”.

Цей день запам’ятається не лише партіями, а й атмосферою, де поруч сиділи гросмейстер і школяр, військовий і студент, досвідчений шахіст і початківець. Команда Київської Школи Економіки вважає організацію, які об'єднують, своїм пріоритетом. Сподіваємося, що проведення Кубка Оболоні з шахів стане справжньою традицією.

The First Obolon Chess Cup by KSE: Results and Achievements

On August 2, the Kyiv School of Economics campus hosted a chess tournament with an international rating in two categories – the main tournament, and the junior category for boys and girls (under 14). A total of 179 chess players took part, including veterans and active military personnel.

The opening ceremony was attended by the President of the Chess Federation of Ukraine, Oleksandr Kamyshyn. Among the participants was also the number one in the Ukrainian ranking, grandmaster and serviceman Ihor Kovalenko. The tournament’s chief arbiter was international arbiter Oleh Tovchyha.

In the blitz tournament of 11 rounds, Kovalenko delivered an outstanding performance – 10.5 points out of a possible 11, confidently surpassing grandmaster Oleksii Kyslynskyi from the Czech Republic. Fifteen-year-old Yan Diomin took third place, becoming the only player who managed to take half a point from the winner. In the junior tournament, the strongest player was Artemii Prokhorov, followed by Zakhar Shevchuk and Andrii Dudnikov. The Cup was held at a very high level – both in terms of the participants and the organization: five grandmasters, fourteen masters of sport, hundreds of games, and a sea of emotions.

The winners were awarded by Valentina Sakhno, Head of KSE Business School. The event was organized jointly by the Kyiv School of Economics, the Kyiv Chess Federation, and with the support of the Obolon District State Administration:

“It is very pleasing that such a powerful institution as the Kyiv School of Economics has appeared in Obolon. This is not just a higher education institution – it is a large educational ecosystem with which we actively cooperate,” said Kyrylo Fesyk, Head of the Obolon District State Administration of Kyiv, emphasizing the prospects of such a partnership.

After the competition, a panel discussion on the development of chess in Ukraine was held with the participation of representatives from KSE, the Ukrainian Chess Federation, and the Kyiv Chess Federation. For KSE, it is extremely important to create and develop spaces and initiatives that are genuinely useful for the community, emphasized Mykhailo Shneider, CEO of the Kyiv School of Economics:

“This tournament is an example of how the KSE University campus will work: open to people, to Kyiv residents, to Obolon residents, to young people, to veterans. We are glad that the campus is already operating and creating value, and this tournament is proof of that.”

This day will be remembered not only for the games but also for the atmosphere, where a grandmaster and a schoolchild, a soldier and a student, an experienced chess player and a beginner sat side by side. The Kyiv School of Economics team is happy to take part in events that bring people together. We hope that hosting the Obolon Chess Cup will become a true tradition.
